Augusoft® will demonstrate Lumens enrollment management software for continuing education (CE) this week at the Campus Technology 2013 conference being held July 29 -August 1 at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston, MA.
CE programs or divisions associated with mainline academic institutions often take a back seat to the more traditional education programs offered for academic credit. CE programs are expected to operate with a minimum of time and investment, particularly with respect to college and university IT departments. CE programs don’t fit the mold of other educational offerings, they cater to students who are not already part of the school community, and they often require special handling outside normal institutional procedures to be profitable.
Lumens is a cloud-based (SaaS) software application that has been in use at secondary schools, colleges, universities, and professional training facilities across the U.S. and Canada since 1999. Lumens automates virtually every non-classroom aspect of administering CE programs including online registration, building and scheduling classes, evaluating the ROI of educational offerings, and handling tuition payments and accreditation for their students.
“Continuing education staff need to have the right tools in place so they can be more productive, improve customer satisfaction, and make data-driven decisions,” said Greg Marsello, Vice President of Organizational Development, Learning Resources Network (LERN), the leading association in providing an authoritative and distinctive source for practical information, best-of practice tools and learning resources for continuing education and customized training programs across the world. “We have found that programs operating with a software system that is not built to support the diverse requirements of continuing education can reduce staff productivity by 25% or more.”
