Minneapolis, Minn. – November 26, 2018 – This year’s annual user summit marked the 15th year the Augusoft staff has gathered with Lumens users for two-days of training and networking. This year’s summit took place in the historic district along the river in Savannah, Georgia where users took time out of their daily grind to gather with peers to share stories, exchange business secrets, tips and learn in detail about real applications of some of the vast Lumens features as well as learn about what is to come in 2019.
The event kicked off with a welcome toast Sunday evening to welcome users into the city. After a night’s rest in the peach state, Lumens users woke to start their day with breakfast and registration with the Augusoft team and fellow peers. The morning sessions consisted of a year-in-review, that summarized all the amazing accomplishments and code releases for the year. The afternoon gave way to some spectacular customer showcases from Michael McGlenen of School District 43 Coquitlam BC, Dr. Nick Langlie of the Community College Workforce Alliance and Bill Pence of Lord Fairfax Community College. Attendees also heard from Kim Albee and Margaret Johnson of Genoo, the marketing automation tool integrated into Lumens.
The team ended the day with a group dinner at city’s icon, The Olde Pink House, where customers bonded over a three-course dinner.
Day two brought more sessions, discussions and award presentations. Guest presenters included Kiley Cribbs of Butler County Community College and Dr. Nick Langlie of Community College Workforce Alliance.
This year’s best Lumens Homepage went to Hawkeye Community College. Lumens makes it easy for anyone to build an eye-catching webpage with build-in web tools.
The best Catalog Cover went to Edmonton Public Schools – Metro Continuing Education. Catalog creation easy with a customizable catalog report that extracts data needed to publish a print catalog in Lumens.
During the summit, Lumens users are given the chance to draft and submit “wish list” items to note new or additional things they wish Lumens could do. Augusoft takes these requests seriously and has released code to address 52 wish list items to-date in 2018! The winners of this drawing was Genene Poppell of University of West Florida, and Tanya Kapko of Edmonton Public Schools – Metro Continuing Education.
Augusoft honors late employee and education industry pioneer Leslie Larrabee every year by offering a free summit pass to the winner of most compelling story about an innovative way to use Lumens. This year’s Larrabee scholarship was awarded to Cameron Smith of State College of California.
Augusoft’s most prestigious award, Customer of the Year was given to Kiley Cribbs for her contributions to Lumens including dedicated work on improving Lumens features and reports, volunteering time on product advisory boards, and serving as a reference to prospective Augusoft customers.
No user summit would be complete without the tradition of the signature chocolate break which took place in the afternoon of day two and certainly didn’t disappoint.
While this year’s participants are busy settling back into their seats at educational colleges, universities, school districts, etc, implementing new tricks and tips to help run their program with more efficiency to grow their program, make sure you plan to mark your calendar for next year’s user summit. Check back in January for more details on the 2019 summit.
