Highlights from Oracle PeopleSoft’s “Alliance” Conference

By Beth Moorhead, Director of Business Development

Over 4,000 people attended this year’s Oracle PeopleSoft’s conference “Alliance” for higher ed in Nashville. I was fortunate to meet up and attend a couple sessions with our great clients from VCCS – WES Implementation team. I was amazed to see PeopleSoft offering 100 CPE’s for attendees, yet their understanding of continuing education and what our clients need are limited at best. The big buzz was movement into the cloud – Oracle’s reaction to the pending competition of Workday and requests from CE units to finally get with it. “Hey Oracle, just call Augusoft and we will help your clients choose the best CE product in the market – Lumens. Plus your clients will love our custom implementation and training!”

Closing night was country music writer/signer Phil Vassar and a dance floor pack with education IT colleagues learning to line dance. I was unaware of how many hit songs Vassar had written for other stars – check it out you just might recognize one of his top 20 hits!
